Comprehensive Cancer Control
Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) is a collaborative process where the community combines resources to reduce the burden of cancer by working to:
- Prevent cancer from occurring
- Find it in its earliest stages
- Improve the accessibility, availability, and quality of cancer treatment services and programs
- Enhance optimal quality of life for people impacted by cancer.
The goal of the Iowa Cancer Control Program (CCCP) is to reduce cancer mortality and morbidity, and increase the quality of life of those affected by cancer through public and professional education programs and activities, which support the statewide cancer coalition, the Iowa Cancer Consortium and implementation of the state cancer plan.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings
The Care for Yourself (CFY) program provides breast and cervical screenings to women in Iowa. If you are between the ages of 21-64, you may be eligible for a free or low-cost screening through this program.
The Iowa Gets Screened (IGS): Colorectal Cancer Program provides low and no-cost screenings in specific counties within Iowa. Screening is recommended to start when a person reaches 45 years-old.
